Tree health and condition surveys – various locations

We use software to create our own bespoke data collection apps to fit the scope of the project. We have tailored the apps to record data that our client requires for their own systems and management needs. Sites have included surveying trees along waterways, care homes, retail parks, industrial estates and schools to ensure persons and properties are safe and that the tree population is cared for as an amenity asset of the site and not just seen as responsibility or liability.

Image 1 shows a screen shot of the app we use that can be tailored to capture the data you require.

Images 2 & 3 below show an example of one of ash trees that we surveyed at a school that was identified to be infested by Inonotus hispidus that is also known as Shaggy bracket and is a fungus that causes white rot decay of wood that causes the wood to become brittle and ultimately results in fractures of branches and whole trees and so can represent a high risk to persons and public. As this tree was in advanced stages of decay and situated next to a footpath we recommended the tree be urgently felled before any safety incident occurs. The tree was also inspected by us for potential bat roosts as several woodpecker holes were present that can also be used by bats as roosts.
